NFL Insiders Vote Bills As Best HC Opening Amid Coaching Carousel, Full Rankings Revealed
Some NFL coaches and executives feel the opportunity to work with Josh Allen makes the Buffalo Bills the best landing spot in this year's head coaching carousel, according to a recent poll by The Athletic's Jeff Howe.
According to Howe, the poll involved 10 coaches and team executives from the 22 franchises who have not undergone head coaching turnover this offseason.
Poll options included the six teams still looking for head coaches in the Bills, Baltimore Ravens, Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Arizona Cardinals and Las Vegas Raiders.

The poll also included the four teams that have already made head coaching hires this offseason in the New York Giants, Atlanta Falcons, Miami Dolphins and Tennessee Titans.
Of those 10 teams, seven people polled named the Bills as the most desirable option for a head coach, according to Howe.
Howe received two votes for the Ravens as the most desirable head coaching job, likely thanks to the opportunity to work with two-time MVP Lamar Jackson, per Howe.
One coach also told Howe the Ravens are the "best overall organization" among the six teams looking for head coaches.
The Giants received one vote for being the most desirable destination, according to Howe.
The Falcons came in fourth place in Howe's poll, followed by the Steelers and Titans.
The Dolphins, Browns, Raiders and Cardinals all received at least one vote as the least desirable head coaching job in the NFL, according to Howe. The Cardinals finished at the bottom of the poll, with six coaches and executives naming the job as the worst destination.
Howe's poll comes after NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported that former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel had informed the Browns he was withdrawing from their head coaching search.
All four of those teams are heading into the 2026 season with major questions at quarterback, and the Dolphins and Cardinals both risk taking future salary cap damage by moving on from their current signal callers.
Two of the most experienced head coaches available this offseason are already off the board now that John Harbaugh has been hired by the Giants and Kevin Stefanski has joined the Falcons. The Titans have hired Robert Saleh and the Dolphins have brought in Jeff Hafley, further limiting the pool of available candidates ahead of the 2026 season.
