Sean McDermott's Top Landing Spots After Reportedly Being Fired by Bills Following Loss to Broncos
After their disappointing playoff loss to the Denver Broncos on Saturday, the Buffalo Bills didn't waste much time before making a major change.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported that the Bills "are moving on from" head coach Sean McDermott this offseason.
McDermott will immediately become one of the top head coaching candidates on the market, so some of his top landing spots could include the Las Vegas Raiders, Arizona Cardinals and Miami Dolphins.

How Will Colts QB Room Shake Out?
McDermott had coached the Bills since 2017, making eight playoff appearances in nine seasons and winning five AFC East titles. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler pointed out that he had a better winning percentage than fellow veteran coaches Mike Tomlin and John Harbaugh, who also parted ways with their respective teams this year:
Unfortunately, McDermott's regular-season success failed to translate to the playoffs. Despite being one of the best teams in the league for nearly a decade, the Bills failed to break through and reach the Super Bowl. Buffalo's latest disappointment came in a 33-30 overtime loss against Denver, which proved to be the last straw for McDermott.
There are multiple head coaching opportunities available this offseason, so McDermott likely won't be on the market for too long. The Raiders potentially present the most attractive destination, as they own the No. 1 pick in the 2026 NFL draft.
McDermott has familiarity with the Dolphins after going up against them for the past nine years. If he wants a change in scenery from the AFC altogether, the Cardinals would be a viable option.
McDermott has strong leadership qualities that would be beneficial to any franchise in need of a new head coach, and he will certainly be motivated to prove that the Bills made the wrong decision to let him go this offseason.
