Stafford, Rams Thrill NFL Fans by Beating Caleb Williams, Bears in OT on 'Thiccer Kicker' FG

The Los Angeles Rams are on their way to the NFC championship game for the first time since their Super Bowl run in 2021.

Los Angeles beat the Chicago Bears 20-17 in a dramatic overtime finish on Sunday.

The Rams took the lead heading into the final minutes of the fourth quarter and were in good position to win it in regulation, but they gave the ball back to the Bears with just under two minutes to play.

Chicago, which has had a number of absurd comebacks this season, marched down the field and got the ball into the redzone. From there, the Bears faced a fourth-and-four with their season on the line. Things appeared to be in doubt as Caleb Williams scrambled away from pressure, but he somehow found tight end Cole Kmet in the endzone. The point after tied things up and sent it into overtime.

After Williams' incredible play, the Bears' defense stepped up in overtime and got a stop on the Rams' first drive, forcing a punt. However, Williams couldn't repeat his success from regulation and an interception gave the ball back to Los Angeles.

The Rams took advantage of the interception, getting into field goal range, and the "Thiccer Kicker," Harrison Mevis, drilled the game-winning field goal.

Afterwards, fans hyped the win and another meeting between the Rams and Seattle Seahawks next week.

Sunday was far from the Rams' best as Matthew Stafford completed 20 of his 42 passes for 258 yards and no touchdowns, but Los Angeles did just enough to advance.

But what the Rams did on Sunday likely won't be enough to get past the dominant Seahawks. Seattle, which finished the season 14-3 to earn the NFC's top seed, crushed the San Francisco 49ers 41-6 on Saturday, and it's looking to topple another division opponent next week to reach the Super Bowl for the first time since 2014.

The Rams beat the Seahawks in their first meeting this season, 21-19, but dropped the second one, 38-37, in overtime. The third round between the NFC West foes will be by far the most consequential.
