Mike McDaniel Rumors on Eagles, Lions, Bucs, Chargers amid NFL HC and OC Searches
Former Miami Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel reportedly withdrew his name from consideration for the Cleveland Browns' head-coaching search on Tuesday, according to NFL Network's Tom Pelissero.
This comes after McDaniel met with the Las Vegas Raiders on Monday to interview for their head coaching job, per Pelissero:

Pelissero noted McDaniel is also a candidate for the Baltimore Ravens' head-coaching job and also has "multiple" offensive coordinator offers.
McDaniel completed an interview with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for their offensive coordinator position on Friday, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.
The Los Angeles Chargers are also set to interview McDaniel for their offensive coordinator job on Tuesday, according to Pelissero.
McDaniel "very much likes the idea" of getting hired as an offensive coordinator again if his door to remain a head coach elsewhere closes this offseason, according to ESPN's Jeff Darlington.
Darlington reported Thursday the Bucs, Chargers and Philadelphia Eagles "all have a different level of interest" in McDaniel:
McDaniel, of course, still remains a candidate for several head coach openings. He interviewed with the Ravens last Thursday.
The Bucs' Todd Bowles and Washington Commanders' Dan Quinn were given a second crack after spending a few years as coordinators. This year's coaching carousel includes a few candidates who were fired once before and have since rebuilt their stock: Denver Broncos' Vance Joseph and Minnesota Vikings' Brian Flores.
Former San Francisco 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh agreed to a five-year contract to become the Tennessee Titans' head coach on Tuesday, according to Schefter.
Performing well as an OC for a contender could put McDaniel back in the frame as early as next year. That's the exact path Saleh will have taken if somebody hires him this winter.
From the standpoint of any interested suitors, McDaniel is as sure a thing as you're going to realistically find as an offensive play-caller.
The 42-year-old briefly brought the best out of Tua Tagovailoa and turned him into a Pro Bowler. Tyreek HIll's strongest individual seasons came in South Florida. Running backs Raheem Mostert and De'Von Achane each rushed for 1,000 yards during the McDaniel era.
All things being equal, the Bucs are the one team mentioned by Darlington that might struggle to make a compelling pitch to McDaniel. They missed the playoffs altogether in 2025, and the 2021 season is the last time they were a serious Super Bowl threat.
The Eagles and Lions both sit above them in the NFC pecking order, even after falling short of expectations to varying degrees.
The Chargers, meanwhile, offer the chance to coach Justin Herbert and some potentially promising young players at the skill positions.
