Mike McCarthy Rumors Uncover Possible NFL Landing Spot Amid Giants HC Buzz
The Tennessee Titans are interviewing former NFL head coach Mike McCarthy next Saturday for their vacant head coaching position, per Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. McCarthy is also scheduled to interview with the New York Giants for their open head coach spot as well.
The 62-year-old McCarthy is 174-112-2 lifetime with the Green Bay Packers (2006-2018) and Dallas Cowboys (2020-2024). His teams have combined for 12 playoff appearances, eight division titles, three NFC Championship Game appearances and one Super Bowl victory.

The Titans and Giants are just two of eight head coaching openings right now alongside the Arizona Cardinals, the Atlanta Falcons, the Baltimore Ravens, Cleveland Browns, the Las Vegas Raiders and the Miami Dolphins.
There are a host of good head coaching candidates as well, including (but not limited to) former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, Minnesota Vikings defensive coordinator Brian Flores, ex-Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski, Seattle Seahawks offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak and Los Angeles Rams defensive coordinator Chris Shula.
McCarthy is in that group of solid coaching candidates, given his impressive pedigree. The biggest knock on him is that his teams never fared particularly well in the playoffs outside the 2010 Packers' run to a Lombardi Trophy.
However, all he's done is win for the most part, and the Titans would certainly welcome that after going 3-14 in each of the past two seasons. They are trying to replace Brian Callahan, who was removed as head coach in October after a 4-19 start to his tenure.
