Daniel Kramer of MLB.com noted Rodríguez helped fund the renovation with a personal investment of $1.3 million.
"This field is where everything started for me," he said. "Being able to give back to Loma de Cabrera and create a place where kids can feel proud, feel safe and believe in themselves means everything. I want them to know there are no limits to what they can achieve."
The complex features one main baseball field, two T-ball fields, a soccer field, stadium lighting, batting cages, bullpens and spectator stands, which Kramer noted will be "providing children and families with access to modern, high-quality facilities while honoring the town's deep connection to baseball."
Rodríguez parlayed his initial baseball experience in his hometown into an incredible professional career, and he is now one of the faces of the Mariners.
The three-time All-Star and two-time Silver Slugger winner helped lead Seattle to the American League Championship Series this past season with four home runs in 12 playoff games. He also slashed .267/.324/.474 with 32 home runs, 95 RBI and 30 stolen bases during the regular season.
That was good enough for a sixth-place finish in the American League MVP voting, and he will look to help the Mariners take the next step in 2026 and reach the World Series.
If he does, he will have his entire hometown firmly behind him.
