Harbaugh coached the Ravens for 18 seasons, compiling a 180-113 record and winning a Super Bowl title in 2012. Baltimore finished the 2025 campaign at 8-9 and fell short of the playoffs for the first time since 2021.

Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti released a statement calling the decision to fire Harbaugh "incredibly difficult," but he indicated that the team's lack of playoff success in recent years was a factor.

"Our goal has always been and will always be to win Championships. We strive to consistently perform at the highest level on the field and be a team and organization our fans take pride in," Bisciotti said, per ESPN's Jamison Hensley. "I will always be grateful for the extraordinary hard work and dedication displayed by John and his staff throughout the many successful years."

It doesn't appear that Harbaugh will have to wait too long to find his next coaching gig. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported that Harbaugh's agent, Bryan Harlan, said he received calls from seven NFL teams expressing interest in his client following Tuesday's firing. NFL insider Jordan Schultz also linked him to the New York Giants' head coaching position.

Harbaugh is one of the top coaches in the league, so he will have no shortage of options in front of him as he explores other openings this offseason.
