Kevin Stefanski Reportedly Eyed for HC Interviews, Top Landing Spots After Browns Exit

Zach BacharJan 6, 2026

Former Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski is already drawing interest from several NFL teams, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Per Schefter, Stefanski is expected to interview with the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants and Tennessee Titans regarding their respective head coaching vacancies.

Schefter reported on Tuesday that Stefanski will interview with the Giants on Wednesday.

The Browns parted ways with Stefanski on Monday after they finished with a 5-12 record during the 2025 season.

He spent the past six seasons in Cleveland, accumulating a 45-56 record.

Stefanski earned Coach of the Year honors twice during his tenure as a member of the Browns organization, with his most recent award coming at the end of their 2023 campaign.

Despite the underwhelming end to his time in Cleveland, it makes sense that teams attempting to climb up the standings of their respective divisions are looking to meet with him. After all, the Browns owned a 17-62-1 record in the five years prior to Stefanski's arrival.

The Falcons haven't made the playoffs since the 2017 season, firing head coach Raheem Morris and general manager Terry Fontenot on Sunday.

Atlanta has narrowly missed the postseason in several recent years, finishing with 7-10 records in each season from 2021-23 before posting consecutive 8-9 marks in 2024 and 2025.

The Giants are looking to turn things around quickly, as their win total has decreased during every season since their last playoff appearance in 2022. They fired head coach Brian Daboll on Nov. 10.

New York will enter its second year with quarterback Jaxson Dart, who had a favorable opinion of Stefanski after meeting with him during the 2025 pre-draft process.

"Coach Stefanski was great," Dart told reporters Monday. "He's had a really good career, especially from an offensive side of things. I thought the visit with him and his staff went well, and I think he's a really good coach."

The Titans are similarly building around a young signal-caller, as Cam Ward showed promise throughout his rookie season despite the team's 3-14 record. Tennessee cut ties with Brian Callahan as its head coach on Oct. 13.

While Stefanski was relieved of his duties as coach of the Browns, it isn't hard to imagine him patrolling the sidelines for another team in 2026.
