Chris Jericho Rumors After Pearce's Tease to Hype WWE Raw on Netflix in Viral Video

WWE fans are buzzing about the potential return of the legendary Chris Jericho following Monday Night Raw general manager Adam Pearce's tease in a viral video.

In a video previewing the anniversary episode of Raw on Netflix, Pearce said, "There are also three massive championship matches on the card. Who will break down the walls and walk out with gold?" Of course, the phrase "break down the walls" is a nod to Jericho's iconic WWE theme song.

In the Wrestling Observer Daily Update, Dave Meltzer revealed that Pearce's phrasing was deliberate, as WWE is trying to generate a spike in fan interest for their first Raw of the New Year.

"They are definitely pushing for a big walk-up because Adam Pearce talked about breaking down the walls, on purpose, which fuels the idea Chris Jericho is returning," Meltzer said (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News).

Meltzer added that Jericho's return to WWE seems like an inevitability even if he doesn't appear on this week's episode of Raw.

"We don't have it confirmed but many believe that is the case, if not tomorrow, by the end of the month," he said.

Jericho hasn't appeared in AEW since April, and his contract with the company reportedly expired on Dec. 31. During the company's Worlds End pay-per-view, the 55-year-old held a special live stream on YouTube and answered fan speculation of his return to WWE by saying, "You never know. You never know."

It sounds like WWE is looking to start off 2026 in a major way by setting up for Jericho's return, which would be an iconic moment fans will remember for quite some time.
