Chris Jericho Fuels WWE Return Rumors After Comments on Live Stream Video
Chris Jericho potentially dropped a hint about his 2026 plans amid the ongoing rumors that he's on the verge of a return to WWE.
Jericho, who hasn't appeared in AEW since April, hosted a "Christmas Dinner With The Winnipeggers" special live stream on his YouTube channel during Saturday's Worlds End pay-per-view. When a fan expressed their desire to see Jericho back in WWE (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News), the 55-year-old simply responded, "You never know. You never know."
Jon Alba of Sports Illustrated reported that his sources feel Jericho will return to WWE "very soon."
Many have been wondering about Jericho's status, as he appears to be nearing the end of his legendary pro wrestling career. Earlier this month, Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful Select said during a Q&A (h/t Steve Carrier of Ringside News) that he had been told directly that "he is not done wrestling right now."
Following John Cena's retirement tour this year, there's a blueprint for WWE that allows legends to close the book on their careers. AJ Styles already announced that 2026 will be his final year in a pro wrestling ring.
While Jericho's time in AEW has run its course, WWE fans likely would welcome him back with open arms due to the nostalgia of having him with the company again. If he's close to retiring, perhaps it would be best for him to end things with the promotion where he spent the majority of his iconic career.
