NFL Insider Updates Job Security of Browns' Kevin Stefanski, Andrew Berry Amid Rumors
Sunday's season finale against the Cincinnati Bengals could mark the end of Kevin Stefanski's tenure as head coach of the Cleveland Browns, but general manager Andrew Berry's job appears to be safe.
Per The Athletic's Dianna Russini, the Browns are "leaning toward" moving on from Stefanski.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Russini noted that the success of Cleveland's 2025 rookie class makes it "likely" Berry will retain his position, but nothing has been finalized at this point.
Given all of the changes to Stefanski's staff over the past two seasons, there is really nowhere else for the Browns to turn. They have had three different offensive coordinators in the past three seasons after firing Alex Van Pelt in January 2024 and Ken Dorsey in January 2025.
Following Van Pelt's dismissal, NFL insider Josina Anderson noted Stefanski wanted to change course.
None of the changes have panned out because the Browns went from 10th in points per game in 2023 to last in the 2024 season and 31st with one game remaining in the 2025 season.
Stefanski has started each of the past two seasons as the offensive play-caller before relinquishing that responsibility to his offensive coordinator. He gave up the duties this season coming out of the bye in Week 9.
Given Stefanski's background as an offensive coach, including two seasons as a coordinator with the Minnesota Vikings from 2018 to 2019, it doesn't speak well for him that there has been such a lack of success on that side of the ball for so long.
It can be easily argued that the issues are more a product of Berry's choices as the one who assembles the roster, particularly some bad investments at the quarterback position, rather than an indictment of Stefanski's ability.
Stefanski is in his sixth season with the Browns, making him their longest-tenured head coach since Sam Rutigliano from 1978 to 1984.
Even though Stefanski and Berry were hired in the same offseason, Stefanski was actually brought in first. Berry got the GM job two weeks later.
The 2025 draft has turned out well for the Browns. Mason Graham, Carson Schwesinger, Quinshon Judkins and Harold Fannin Jr. all look like long-term starters for the team.
If Berry can ever figure out the quarterback position, the Browns have a lot of pieces in place around it for a quick turnaround.
