Eagles' Nick Sirianni Defends 2-Point Conversion vs. Commanders After Brawl Ensues
Philadelphia Eagles head coach Nick Sirianni defended his decision to attempt a two-point conversion and take a 19-point lead late in the fourth quarter of the team's 29-18 win over the Washington Commanders on Sunday.
"We did that in what we thought was the best interest," Sirianni said after the game, per ESPN's John Keim and Tim McManus. "To go up one more point in my mind is not running up the score."
Following the successful two-point conversion that gave Philadelphia a 29-10 edge with just over four minutes remaining in the game, a brawl broke out that led to the ejections of Eagles guard Tyler Steen, Washington defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw and Commanders safety Quan Martin.

Sirianni's decision may have been impacted by the struggles of kicker Jake Elliott, who missed both of his field-goal attempts in the first half. Elliott also missed a third kick that was called back due to a penalty.
He connected on all three of his extra points, though.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn gave his thoughts on the two-point conversion.
"I can only answer from my side and what I would do," Quinn said, via Keim and McManus. "If that's how they want to get down, all good. We play them again in two weeks."
The Eagles and Commanders will close out the regular season against each other in Week 18.
