Alex Harkey NFL Draft 2026 Scouting Report for Los Angeles Chargers OT

Brandon ThornDec 18, 2025

The Los Angeles Chargers selected Oregon OT Alex Harkey with the No. 206 overall pick in the 2026 NFL draft.

Alex Harkey is a stoutly-built, rugged presence with solid raw power and a nasty mentality to deliver knockout shots and body blows, but shows marginal body control, leverage, and consistency that result in an unreliable down-to-down blocker. Harkey is inexperienced enough to project some upside to develop as a late day three or UDFA dart throw at guard.

Harkey is a 6'6", 308-pound offensive line prospect who entered Tyler Junior College in 2021 before signing with Colorado as a 3-star recruit in the 2022 class. Harkey played tight end and defensive line in high school before making the transition to the offensive line in JUCO.

Harkey started 26 career games at right tackle, including 14 in 2025 for the Ducks. Harkey turns 25-years old in July.

Where He Wins

2 of 5
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: NOV 14 Minnesota at Oregon

— Thick, stout build with heavy hands.

— Flashes of jarring power to uproot and torque defenders out of the lane on angle-drive blocks.

— Effective snatch-trap technique to steal leverage and earn quick wins against the bull-rush.

— Brings an edge as a finisher and is consistently running his feet with the intent of burying defenders.

Areas of Improvement

3 of 5
COLLEGE FOOTBALL: OCT 25 Wisconsin at Oregon

— Shaky body control and sustain skills lead to a boom-or-bust down-to-down blocker.

— Susceptible to being slipped cleanly high-side in pass protection and across his face in the run game.

— Runs his feet to finish but lacks a governor to adjust and re-leverage.
