Phillies Reportedly 'Begging' For Nick Castellanos Trade, Who Else Could Be Dealt?

Andrew PetersDec 11, 2025

A number of MLB players reportedly could be on the move this offseason in trades.

The Athletic's Jim Bowden broke down some of the players that teams are looking for deals for heading into the second half of the offseason, with some key names being Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager, Arizona Diamondbacks second baseman Ketel Marte and Philadelphia Phillies right fielder Nick Castellanos.

According to Bowden, the Rangers and D-Backs are "listening" on Seager and Marte, while Philadelphia is "begging someone to take" Castellanos.

Another big name to watch this offseason is Detroit Tigers star ace Tarik Skubal. Despite the Tigers and Skubal reportedly being far apart in contract talks, Bowden reported that Detroit "probably won't trade him," but the team is "taking offers."

Other pitchers possibly on the move include Milwaukee Brewers' Freddy Peralta and one of the New York Mets' Kodai Senga or David Peterson, per Bowden. Bowden also noted that the Miami Marlins have made Edward Cabrera and Sandy Alcantara "available."

The list of trade candidates doesn't stop there.

"The Cardinals will move Brendan Donovan, the Giants will listen on Bryce Eldridge, the Padres are shopping Jake Cronenworth and Nick Pivetta, the Astros are trying to move Christian Walker and Jake Meyers, the Royals will move a starter for a power-hitting left fielder and the Red Sox will trade Jarren Duran if they get the right corner infielder or starting pitcher," Bowden reported.

While the odds of all of those players being traded before the end of the offseason seem low, it certainly appears as if the months leading up to the season will see plenty of transactions.
