Daniels suffered a dislocated elbow late in the Commanders' Week 9 contest against the Seattle Seahawks and was forced to miss three games, making his return against the Minnesota Vikings in Week 14. He exited that game in the third quarter after re-aggravating his left elbow while getting blocked during an interception return.
He was initially ruled as questionable during that game, but Quinn felt it was best to leave him off the field to avoid any more damage.
"As a team, at this point, we were off and felt like that was the right call," Quinn told reporters.
Before the elbow injury, Daniels missed five of Washington's first eight contests because of hamstring and knee injuries.
With all of those injuries, it's safe to say Daniels' sophomore campaign hasn't gone the way he would have hoped. In seven games, he's thrown for 1,262 yards, eight touchdowns and three interceptions, adding 278 rushing yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
With Daniels once again sidelined, the Commanders will turn to Marcus Mariota in relief. The veteran quarterback has appeared in nine games this year, throwing for 1,389 yards and nine touchdowns.
