Jayden Daniels to Be Commanders' QB1 vs. Seahawks After Hamstring Injury Recovery
The Washington Commanders announced Friday that quarterback Jayden Daniels will start against the Seattle Seahawks on Sunday.
Commanders head coach Dan Quinn previously told reporters that Daniels was expected to be a full participant in practice throughout the week leading up to the clash with Seattle, putting him on track to make his return from the hamstring injury.
The second-year passer was sidelined for Washington's 28-7 loss to the Kansas City Chiefs in Week 8 due to the hamstring issue.

Hamstring and knee injuries have caused Daniels to miss three of the Commanders' first eight games of the 2025 season. He hasn't been able to build upon his stellar rookie season in 2024 despite remaining sharp overall, completing 61.0 percent of his throws for 1,031 yards and eight touchdowns compared to one interception.
Daniels has also rushed for 211 yards and one score.
The 24-year-old immediately excelled after the Commanders selected with the No. 2 overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft, recording 3,568 pass yards and 31 total touchdowns.
Daniels was also picked off just nine times, leading Washington to a 12-5 record before advancing to the NFC Championship Game. He was named Offensive Rookie of the Year for his efforts.
With Daniels in and out of the starting offense this year, the Commanders only sit at No. 3 in the NFC East standings with a 3-5 record.
They have a tough matchup on tap against the 5-2 Seahawks, but with Daniels back in the lineup, it gives the Commanders a far better chance to get back on track.
