Will Kyler Murray Be Traded by Cardinals? HC Gannon Avoids Question on QB's Future
Arizona Cardinals head coach Jonathan Gannon was noncommittal regarding quarterback Kyler Murray's long-term future with the team.
When asked by reporters if he believes Murray will be Arizona's quarterback in 2026, Gannon kept his focus on the Cardinals' matchup with the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday.
"I'm worried about the Rams," Gannon said, per Darren Urban of the team's official website.

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Murray will be sidelined for the rest of the 2025 season due to a foot injury.
He hasn't played since Week 5 due to the foot issue.
ESPN's Adam Schefter reported Nov. 8 that Murray and the Cardinals are "expected to have extensive discussions to help determine whether to move forward together or go their own ways."
Cutting the signal-caller is an option for Arizona, as he's still playing on a five-year extension worth $230.5 million that he signed with the team in 2022.
If the Cardinals choose to release him with a post-June 1 designation, they would absorb a $47.5 million dead cap charge and save $5.7 million in 2026 cap space (via Over the Cap).
Schefter also noted that Arizona will likely want to make a decision to trade or release Murray before he's due $19.5 million in guaranteed money on the fifth day of the new league year in March 2026.
Murray took home Offensive Rookie of the Year honors for his 2019 season and earned Pro Bowl nods in each of the next two years, but missed 15 combined games from 2022-23 due to a torn ACL.
He returned to play in all 17 games in 2024, but the Cardinals missed the playoffs with a record of 8-9.
This season, Murray completed 68.3 percent of his throws for 962 yards and six touchdowns compared to three interceptions in five games. He also rushed for 173 yards and a score.
