Will Justin Herbert Play for Chargers vs. Eagles? Latest on QB's Injury Timeline
Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is reportedly trending toward playing Monday against the Philadelphia Eagles just days after undergoing hand surgery.
Dianna Russini of The Athletic reported Herbert is "trying to play" and that if he were under center on Monday night "it would not be surprising."
Russini also noted Chargers players she spoke to are expecting Herbert to play.

On Friday, NFL Network's Tom Pelissero reported Herbert appears to be "trending in the right direction."
Herbert has been healthy all year, but suffered a fractured left hand in the Chargers' Week 13 win over the Las Vegas Raiders. He underwent successful surgery for the injury and has been day-to-day heading into Monday's showdown.
Before suffering the fractured hand, Herbert appeared to suffer an ankle injury in Week 10 against the Pittsburgh Steelers, but both he and head coach Jim Harbaugh shrugged off the injury.
Herbert, now in his sixth NFL campaign, has had a solid year, throwing for 2,842 yards, 21 touchdowns and 10 interceptions.
After reaching the playoffs last year, the Chargers are hoping to get their first postseason win since 2018 this time around. Having Herbert healthy for that potential playoff run would be instrumental.
