Tiger Woods Jokes About 2026 Schedule on Video as Golf Legend Updates Injury Timeline

Joseph ZuckerDec 2, 2025

Tiger Woods didn't want to set any concrete goals when it came to his golf schedule in 2026.

Ahead of the Hero World Challenge, the tournament he hosts in the Bahamas, Woods quipped he's "probably going to play 25 events" between the PGA Tour and PGA Tour Champions.

The 49-year-old then got more honest when he said he's "a ways away" from knowing how often he might be able to play:

During the fall of 2023, Woods set an optimistic target of one tournament a month. He wound up making five appearances, though he made only one cut.

This time last winter, the 15-time major champion was purposefully more vague as he acknowledged the effects of aging in his injury recoveries.

Woods ultimately didn't compete at all during the 2025 PGA Tour campaign, though he did feel healthy enough to step inside the SoFi Center for TGL's inaugural year.

A ruptured Achilles a month out from the Masters ensured last year would be a lost season for Woods.

Fans haven't given up hope on seeing the Hall of Famer at a PGA Tour event again, and he's weeks away from celebrating his 50th birthday, which will make him eligible for the senior tour.

Most PGA Tour Champions tournaments are 54 holes instead of the standard 72, and the level of competition is much different from what Woods is accustomed to. If nothing else, the senior tour would be a great way for him to play his way back into shape.

As long as he doesn't encounter any setbacks in his Achilles recovery or have another flareup in his back, Woods might be able to provide a more encouraging update in a few months.
