Cowboys' CeeDee Lamb Compares Facing Lions DBs to a 'Boxing Match' Ahead of TNF

Andrew PetersDec 1, 2025

CeeDee Lamb knows he's in for a physical battle when he faces the Detroit Lions on Thursday.

The Dallas Cowboys star wide receiver compared going up against the Lions' defensive backs to a boxing match.

"I know their DBs like to play hands-on, they run a lot of man, and they want to be in your face," Lamb told reporters on Monday. "You know what's going on. It's just about how you prepare for it. It's almost like a boxing match."

While he knows he's in for a fight, he also said he's looking forward to it.

"I find it fun; that's what football is," he said. "Sometimes the refs let you play, sometimes they won't. We'll see how it goes. But as far as the physicality of the game, I know what's going to happen."

Lamb should be feeling good about himself heading into the matchup following the performance he had against the Kansas City Chiefs last week. After struggling with drops in recent weeks, Lamb had his best game of the season against the Chiefs, recording 112 yards and a touchdown on seven receptions.

The Cowboys had a rough 3-5-1 start to the season, but have since improved to 6-5-1 with three consecutive wins. Dallas is hoping to make a late push for the playoffs, and a win over Detroit would go a long way.

The Cowboys will look to their star receiver to lead the way against the Lions' physical defensive backs.
