Shedeur Sanders Reflects on 1st Browns Start in Video, Notes Areas of Improvement

Paul KasabianNov 26, 2025

Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Shedeur Sanders spoke about his first NFL start, which resulted in a 24-10 road win over the Las Vegas Raiders on Sunday.

"I was really thankful for being out there, of course," Sanders told reporters. "It's everything, you know, in the midst of a game that you can progress in, when it comes to like, even footwork, even when you're handing the ball off. Locating defenders, understand that the windows do close a little bit quicker. It's a lot of things that you can go back in the game and look back and want to re-do."

Sanders completed 11-of-20 passes for 209 yards, one touchdown and one interception. His score went to running back Dylan Sampson, who took a screen pass 66 yards to the end zone.

Sanders' best throw of the day went to wide receiver Isaiah Bond, who hauled in a 53-yard deep bomb from the ex-Colorado star.

Overall, this was a positive first step for Sanders, who took the reins of the offense with previous starter and fellow rookie Dillon Gabriel in concussion protocol.

Gabriel has since been cleared, but Sanders will get the call again on Sunday, when the Browns host the San Francisco 49ers.

On that front, Sanders told reporters that he's "not comfortable" as he gets another chance to call signals.

"I'm definitely not comfortable, though, so that's first and foremost that I have another opportunity to go out there," Sanders said. "But in life, you got to understand how quickly things come or how long it comes, it could be taken at any point in time.

"So I'm never comfortable in a situation I'm in. I always want to exceed expectations, and I always want to grow in each and every week, I would want to put a better product of myself, be a better version of myself for the team to be out there."

Kickoff on Sunday will be at 1 p.m. ET from Cleveland's Huntington Bank Field.
