Jalen Hurts Gives Advice to Eagles After Historic Collapse vs. Dak Prescott, Cowboys
Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts doesn't want his team to quickly forget the sting of Sunday's 24-21 defeat to the Dallas Cowboys.
"We've got to find a way to finish the game, and we've got to find some consistency in what we do," he told reporters after the game. "Definitely the tale of two halves. In the end, we didn't play a complete game as a team, and today it got us. ... We've got to own this one, let it light a fire in us as a team and stay together and move forward."
The Eagles scored touchdowns on their first three possessions. When Hurts punched it in on a one-yard run to put Philly ahead 21-0 in the second quarter, most fans of both teams probably assumed the game was basically over.

NFL coach calls CFB transfer players 'clowns'
Instead, Dallas tied a franchise record by erasing that three-score deficit. Brandon Aubrey's 42-yard field goal as time expired put the finishing touches on the comeback.
Much like last year, a lot of people in Philly haven't been convinced by the Eagles despite them winning games and leading the division. Sunday was when those fears manifested.
In his postgame press conference, head coach Nick Sirianni referenced his team's two lost fumbles and alluded to 14 penalties that accounted for 96 yards.
"When there's the amount of mistakes that we had, some of the self-inflicted wounds that we had today, I'm always going to put that on me as the head coach because that's something that we talk about an awful lot, and I've got to make sure my message is getting through," he said.
But that doesn't fully account for why the Eagles offense gained 108 yards in the second half. The play-calling got too conservative, the players lost their focus, or it was a mixture of the two.
Philadelphia scored 26 combined points in its wins over the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions, so the warning signs were there. Now, those issues are impossible to ignore after the reigning Super Bowl champs snatched defeat from the jaws of victory.
