What Are 49ers Teammates Saying About Brandon Aiyuk's Contract? Pearsall, More React
Brandon Aiyuk's teammates discussed his contract situation with the San Francisco 49ers on Saturday.
"I got all the love for B.A., but I try not to stick my nose in that kind of business," 49ers receiver Ricky Pearsall said, per Jennifer Lee Chan of NBC Sports Bay Area. "Me and B.A. go way back to ASU days, 2019, so how I feel about him specifically, it will never change.
"He has been a huge part of my journey. He was the first receiver, I would say, that showed me the routes of what an NFL receiver looks like, back in 2019 and even to this day."

49ers left tackle Trent Williams wasn't interested in diving into Aiyuk's contract status.
"I love B like a brother, and I'm not going to comment on his situation," Williams said, via Chan. "It's between him and the 49ers. I'm going to let that be what it is."
Wide receiver Jauan Jennings also revealed that his conversations with Aiyuk have mainly been about his recovery from a torn ACL and MCL that he suffered in Oct. 2024.
"B as far as I know has been getting great rehab and just being B," Jennings said. "I talk to him, and told him I hope he's healing up. That's about it."
Dianna Russini and Michael Silver of The Athletic reported Friday that the 49ers voided the guaranteed money in Aiyuk's contract for 2026 due to a "a failure to fulfill his contractual obligations" after he missed meetings and "declined to participate in other team activities in recent months."
Aiyuk chose not to fight the move via an official grievance, setting the stage for his "expected release" at the end of the 2025 season (via Russini and Silver).
His murky future in San Francisco is particularly surprising considering the team handed him a four-year extension worth $120 million in Aug. 2024.
Despite Aiyuk's shortened 2024 season due to the injury, he's also just two years removed from a 2023 campaign in which he hauled in 75 receptions for 1,342 yards and seven touchdowns in 16 games.
