Rams' Updated Salary Cap After Nate Landman's $22.5M Contract Extension

Paul KasabianNov 22, 2025

The Los Angeles Rams have signed linebacker Nate Landman to a three-year, $22.5 million contract extension that includes $15.67 million guaranteed, per ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Landman signed a one-year deal with the Rams last offseason after playing three years with the Atlanta Falcons.

It's unclear what the year-to-year breakdown of the deal is as of yet. However, the contract projects to have an average annual value of $7.5 million.

If you subtract that number from the Rams' current listed cap space (pre-Landman deal) over the next three years (h/t Over the Cap), that would give L.A. roughly $79 million of cap space in 2026 and $193.5 million in cap space in 2027.

Landman has been exceptional for the 8-2 Rams, who sit first in the NFC West and could very well make a run to the Super Bowl. He leads the NFL with four forced fumbles and has also added 91 tackles (44 solo), four pass breakups, three quarterback hits and 1.5 sacks. Landman had 17 tackles against the Baltimore Ravens earlier this year in a 17-3 win.

"He has great emotional intelligence," Rams coach Sean McVay said regarding Landman on Friday, per ESPN's Sarah Barshop. "He's a great competitor. I think our guys immediately earned the respect and just the way that he moves. ... I've really enjoyed continuing to get to know him and everything that he's about. It epitomizes what we want to be about."

This is a huge win for the Rams and also Landman, who was playing on the veteran's minimum this year and cashed in after a great performance. Ian Rapoport of NFL Network provided more information.

Now Landman and the Rams will look to move to 9-2 when they host the 6-4 Tampa Bay Buccaneers for this week's edition of Sunday Night Football. Kickoff is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET.
