Deion Sanders Reveals Advice for Shedeur Before 1st NFL Start with Browns vs. Raiders
The last time Shedeur Sanders started a football game, he was playing for his father, Deion Sanders, at Colorado.
But when he takes the field on Sunday as the Cleveland Browns face the Las Vegas Raiders, the rookie quarterback won't have his father coaching him like he did for his entire collegiate career. Still, the elder Sanders offered some advice for his son before his first NFL start.
"Take your time, see it, get completions, use your check downs, don't try to be more than you are," Deion Sanders said on the Colorado Football Coaches Show (39:40 mark). "Just relax and do what you've done your whole life. Study, prepare, understand the defense. He usually studied so much, he knew what they were going to do before they did it. So, I expect that kind of preparation and that type of understanding. I know he doesn't have the leeway he had here offensively to change a lot of things when he sees it. But I hope to God that he relaxes and plays he's game."

New Report on Colts-Richardson Situation

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Sanders made his first NFL appearance last week against the Baltimore Ravens, taking over under center after Dillon Gabriel suffered a concussion. His first outing was rough as he threw for 47 yards and an interception on 4-of-16 passing, though it was his first time taking snaps with the starters since being drafted, head coach Kevin Stefanski revealed afterwards.
With a week of preparation behind him, plus some advice from his father, Sanders will look to make up for a bad start with a strong performance against the Raiders.
