Dodgers' HR Baseballs from Historic Game 7 World Series Win to Be Sold at Auction

Julia StumbaughNov 20, 2025

The home run balls hit by Miguel Rojas and Will Smith to seal the Los Angeles Dodgers' comeback win in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series will be sold this weekend by SCP Auctions.

The auction is set to close three weeks after the Dodgers claimed a second straight championship with a 5-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays on Nov. 1 at Rogers Centre.

Bidding for the signed ball Rojas hit for a ninth-inning homer that forced the Blue Jays to extra innings is up to $70,000 as of Thursday afternoon, according to SCP Auctions.

Smith's home run ball, which he hit to send the championship-clinching run home the top of the 11th inning, is meanwhile up to $130,000 in bidding as of Thursday afternoon.

Both sales are set to close Saturday at 10:30 p.m. ET, according to SCP Auctions.

Blue Jays fan John Bains claims to have caught Rojas' ball. He confirmed in a letter accompanying the auction he swapped out the game ball for an extra ball in his pocket before throwing it back into the field.

SCP Auctions shared a video last Monday of Rojas signing the ball.

The Smith home run was allegedly caught by Bains' son, Matthew Bains, who wrote he similarly kept the home run ball in his hand while throwing a warm-up ball onto the field.

Both Matthew and John were sitting in the front row of section 143 at Rogers Centre, according to ESPN's Dan Hajducky.

According to Hajducky, the balls were not authenticated by MLB. Both fans provided the auction house notarized affidavits saying they caught the balls, and SCP Auctions reported both took polygraph tests which are available upon request.
