Jason Kelce Gets Emotional in Video Discussing Reports Around Jalen Hurts Frustration
On paper, everything should be great for the Philadelphia Eagles.
They are the reigning Super Bowl champions and sitting atop the NFC standings with a quarterback in Jalen Hurts who has 16 touchdown passes to one interception. However, the offense has been stagnant of late to the point franchise legend Jason Kelce became emotional when he responded to suggestions some within the team are frustrated with Hurts.

"I hate seeing this and the only way out of this, and I mean this fully," Kelce said. "… You talk to people, you be accountable, you try to work this out. I mean it's not that much different than what you do in your marriage. You try to be accountable to what you're doing wrong, what you're failing in. You try to take accountability to alleviate the burden off of other people."
He also shared a story that he and close friend Lane Johnson didn't speak for an entire offseason following a disagreement regarding how difficult practices were under former Eagles head coach Chip Kelly.
"This thing brings out emotions and sides of people because you all want to win so bad."
Kelce also responded specifically to the notion some players might not enjoy playing with Hurts and said, "I bet everybody liked winning the Super Bowl. I bet everybody likes winning football games."
Dave Zangaro of NBC Sports Philadelphia noted Eagles insider Derrick Gunn and Dianna Russini of The Athletic have each reported about some internal frustrations with Hurts.
For his part, the quarterback said he understands the additional attention comes with being in his position.
"Y'all bring it to me," Hurts said Wednesday. "Ultimately, it's about coming in here and working and leading and bringing good energy and showing it by how you work. At the end of the day, we are here to play as a team and to play together and find ways to win. That's where we all have our focus at."
At this point, nearly every team in the NFL would trade places with the Eagles.
After all, they are the ones holding the Lombardi Trophy with star players all over the roster and an inside track on a potential first-round bye this season. Yet the offense looked vulnerable during the last two games while scoring 10 points against the Green Bay Packers and 16 points against the Detroit Lions.
To Philadelphia's credit, it still won those games thanks to dominant defensive performances.
Hurts has a track record of success and will have opportunities to get back on track against some of the weaker defenses in the league with upcoming games against the Dallas Cowboys (30th in yards allowed per game), Chicago Bears (27th) and Washington Commanders (31st).
It would be anything but surprising if he and the offense start putting up impressive numbers again down the stretch, which should quiet some of the noise around the team and unit.
