Jerry Rice's Son Brenden Reportedly Lands Seahawks Contract After Patriots Stint
Wide receiver Brenden Rice, the son of NFL legend Jerry Rice, has reportedly found a new home.
According to NFL insider Jordan Schultz, Brenden signed a contract with the Seattle Seahawks on Tuesday.
The 23-year-old was previously a member of the New England Patriots' practice squad after spending training camp with the Los Angeles Chargers.

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
Brenden was eventually released by the Chargers ahead of the 2025 regular season as they cut their roster down to 53 players.
Los Angeles initially selected him with a seventh-round pick in the 2024 NFL draft out of USC. Brenden played in three games as a rookie, but was primarily utilized on special teams and didn't record a catch.
He was heavily involved in the Trojans' offense during his final year at college in 2023, hauling in 45 receptions for 791 yards and 12 touchdowns in 12 games.
Brenden will now serve as a reserve option for a Seahawks squad that boasts a receiving corps headlined by star Jaxon Smith-Njigba, who has caught 72 passes for a league-leading 1,146 yards this season.
Still, Seattle could use some more depth behind Smith-Njigba after fifth-round rookie Tory Horton was ruled out of the team's 21-19 defeat at the Los Angeles Rams on Sunday due to groin and shin injuries.
The Seahawks still sit at 7-3 on the season despite the loss, looking to advance to the playoffs for the first time under head coach Mike Macdonald.
Of note, Jerry Rice's final regular-season game came with Seattle in 2004, hauling in 25 receptions for 362 yards and three touchdowns in 11 games. He later signed with the Denver Broncos but did not appear in a regular-season game, ultimately retiring in September 2005.
