Dak Prescott, Cowboys Discuss Marshawn Kneeland Tributes After Win vs. Raiders

Julia StumbaughNov 18, 2025

Dak Prescott and his Dallas Cowboys teammates said tributes to defensive end Marshawn Kneeland won't stop with Monday night's 33-16 road win over the Las Vegas Raiders.

The Cowboys wore themed warmup shirts in honor of Kneeland and held up his No. 94 jersey after the victory, which took place less than two weeks days after the 24-year-old died in what police described as a "possible suicide."

"This doesn't put a cap on it," Prescott told reporters after the Week 11 win over the Raiders. "We're going to continue to move forward, shining light on Marshawn, and carrying his legacy. We need to play like this every week moving forward, and he'll always be with us."

Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb expressed similar interest in continuing tributes for Kneeland.

"I just feel like we've got to continue to honor him," Lamb said Monday night. "Not just, again, have it one week after, because it's fresh.

"It's easy to kind of forget about things, and I feel like for Marshawn, it's just making sure that he's always appreciated and thought of, for everything that he's done and the impact that he's made in two years."

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said after the win he was proud of the way his team had "grieved, cried, laughed" while remembering Kneeland at Allegiant Stadium.

"They wanted to honor him, and we're not done honoring him," Schottenheimer said. "He's a part of our family forever. It's been tough, man. I mean, these past 11 days have been really tough, but I'm proud of those guys because, just the way they played today, they played with Marshawn's play style."

The Raiders and Cowboys shared a moment of silence ahead of Monday's game, during which Kneeland's face was shown on the video boards alongside the suicide hotline number of 988.

Defensive tackle Quinnen Williams said after the win he felt seeing Kneeland's face on the video boards during his pregame tribute "gave me the motivation to play like him."

That was a focus for the Cowboys in the week leading up to the Week 11 matchup. Defensive tackle Osa Odighizuwa, who was one of the players carrying Kneeland's jersey after the game, said his team had talked about "honoring Marshawn by putting his style of film on tape."

The Cowboys fell behind by three points in the first quarter of the Monday night matchup. The offense responded with four straight touchdown drives, while the defense forced an interception on Raiders quarterback Geno Smith, to climb out to a 22-point lead by the end of the third quarter.

Linebacker DeMarvion Overshown told reporters after the win he felt Kneeland will remain with his team regardless of what tributes are taking place in his honor.

"Our brother is on the sideline with us, whether it's physical or spiritually," Overshown said. "So having his jersey there, that's the least we can do. We already know Marshawn is out there on the field with us."

The Cowboys will continue honoring Kneeland by wearing his No. 94 on their helmets for the rest of the 2025 season. The team is also planning a tribute ahead of next Sunday's Week 12 game against the visiting Philadelphia Eagles, which will mark their first return to AT&T Stadium since Kneeland's death.
