Broncos TE Defends Bo Nix, 'I Don't Give a S--t' What 'Dragonslayer69,' Critics Say

Joseph ZuckerNov 17, 2025

Denver Broncos tight end Adam Trautman doesn't have any time for anonymous criticism of teammate Bo Nix.

"If you're talking s--t about Bo online, you're a coward. Absolute coward," Trautman told reporters Sunday. "... We don't care what other people think. We know what we have in the building, and we know what he's made of, and we don't really care what people have to say, so, Dragonslayer69 with his 7-11 Slurpee in his mom's basement, I don't give a s--t what he has to say, right? And Bo doesn't, either."

The Broncos are a day removed from a 22-19 win over the Kansas City Chiefs, a result that improved their record to 9-2 and widened their lead to two games atop the AFC West.

Denver is on pace to make the playoffs for the second straight year with Nix at the helm.

On an individual level, though, the 2024 first-round pick hasn't improved much. He's averaging 220.1 passing yards per game, which are nearly equal to his 2024 output (222.1), and his 53.5 QBR is exactly the same as last year, per Pro Football Reference.

Nix is, however, leading the NFL in fourth-quarter comebacks and game-winning drives with five apiece.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder with the 25-year-old.

Nix went 24-of-37 for 295 yards against the Chiefs, and he showed impressive poise down the stretch to set up Wil Lutz's pair of field goals inside the final minutes that lifted Denver over the top.

In terms of their record, the Broncos are exactly where they want to be as well.

But skeptics may question how much an elite defense and a somewhat soft schedule — Denver has a .354 strength of victory — are inflating Nix's value. There are countless examples of quarterbacks who rack up wins in the regular season with solid production, only to get exposed in the playoffs.

That's the space Seattle Seahawks' Sam Darnold is occupying right now.

Nix's teammates are right to defend him passionately because the on-field results speak for themselves. Until the Broncos get over the hump in the postseason, though, he's bound to have his critics.
