Alcaraz and Sinner met in the past three Grand Slam finals. Alcaraz was victorious in a five-set thriller at the French Open, while Sinner got some revenge by winning at Wimbledon. Alcaraz bounced back with a victory at the US Open. Sinner also won the Australian Open earlier in the year, giving them both two major titles in 2025.
The two young stars opened things up with a blistering first set that went to a tie-break after neither of them surrendered a break point. Sinner eventually won the marathon 7-4 in the tiebreaker.
Things looked a little shaky when Alcaraz opened the second set with a break point and held serve to jump out to a 2-0 lead, but Sinner stormed back with a break point of his own and another break at match point to earn the 7-5 victory.
It's clear that Sinner and Alcaraz are the future of men's tennis, and fans can surely expect more battles between the two of them over the next few years. For now, Sinner gets to go home with the advantage over Alcaraz as their rivalry continues.
