Had Briscoe lost, he would have been forced to join the Don Callis Family per the stipulations of the match, but he avoided that fate by virtue of his victory.

Saturday's bout was a rematch from last month's WrestleDream pay-per-view, which saw Fletcher defeat Briscoe to retain the title.

Fletcher tried some dirty tricks in that match, including hitting Briscoe with a low blow while the referee was distracted. Briscoe absorbed a ton of punishment and kept kicking out until Fletcher beat him with a brainbuster onto the turnbuckle.

Entering WrestleDream, Briscoe and Fletcher had faced off in four singles matches, and they split them 2-2.

Fletcher seemingly won the series with his victory at WrestleDream, but Briscoe was determined to get one more shot at the TNT title.

In an effort to appease Fletcher and get him to accept another match, Briscoe proposed a No Disqualification stipulation. That typically plays into the hands of Fletcher due to the backing of the Don Callis Family.

While Fletcher appeared intrigued, Don Callis upped the ante even more by saying that if Briscoe wanted the match, he would have to agree to join the Don Callis Family in the event of a loss.

Briscoe was amenable, and the end result was Fletcher vs. Briscoe being made official for Full Gear.

By getting the best of Fletcher, Briscoe scored one of the biggest singles wins of his career, and he won his first-ever non-ROH AEW title.
