Broncos' Bo Nix Explains Deleting Social Media amid Criticism Dating Back to College
Denver Broncos quarterback Bo Nix doesn't worry about what people say on social media, which is easy enough because he doesn't have any social media accounts, as he told reporters Wednesday.
Nix said it was back in his college days at Auburn, after a loss to Florida, that he got an unwanted glimpse at how negatively people can respond to athletes.
"It's unfortunate, for sure, but at the same time it's what comes with the territory," he said of online vitriol. "It's also a gift, because it allows other people to see how you respond to adversity, and there's a lot of younger kids and people out there who want to be in our shoes, want to grow up and be just like us. Hopefully they're better. It's good for them to see that not everything's pretty, not everything's happy-go-lucky. It definitely doesn't go like you plan."
It's going decently to plan for the Broncos this season, who have started the season 8-2. Nix has been a big part of that success, throwing for 2,126 yards, 18 touchdowns and eight interceptions, though he's only completed 60.9 percent of his passes.
