Could Devin Williams Sign Dodgers Contract in MLB FA? Latest Landing Spot Rumors

Devin Williams is one of the names to watch in free agency this offseason, and the reliever has been linked to the best team in baseball.

Per The Athletic's Fabian Ardaya, "there appears to be mutual interest between" Williams and the Los Angeles Dodgers early on this offseason.

Ardaya noted that the Dodgers are "looking to add at least one high-leverage right-handed bullpen arm" after their bullpen struggled in the World Series against the Toronto Blue Jays. General manager Brandon Gomes also said the team "could" add a reliever, and sources said Williams could be a target, according to Ardaya.

Gomes added that the Dodgers will see "what fits in free agency" so they don't have to scramble at the trade deadline.

"I think it's being very targeted in who we go out and look to acquire," Gomes said. "I think that holds true across the board, without many glaring holes. So I think it's taking this time to look at what is available, what fits in free agency, and also the different avenues that we can. So I think the mindset is still to approach the offseason and not have to go out and make big splashy trades at the deadline."

Williams was traded to the New York Yankees ahead of the 2025 campaign, but he was in the mix to end up in Los Angeles last offseason.

"I kinda thought I'd be going to L.A., that was what I was being told," Williams said in December. "The Yankees snuck in there under the table and got the deal done."

Williams also said that he's "definitely open" to returning to the Yankees in 2026.

Williams struggled in 2025, recording a career-worst 4.79 ERA and losing his closer role with the Yankees early in the season. If he ends up in Los Angeles, Williams will look to return to All-Star form and help the Dodgers go for a three-peat.
