John Cena Posts Thank You Message to Boston Fans After Historic Title Win on WWE Raw

Joseph ZuckerNov 11, 2025

WWE star John Cena savored his historic win on Raw in front of a hometown crowd in Boston on Monday night.

"Thank you Boston. It meant so much to be able, for one last time, to be allowed an opportunity to do what I love, in a place I love, surrounded by those I love," he wrote on social media. "Our performances are only meaningful if YOU the audience invest in us and decide they are. The smile on my face and awe in my eyes in this small clip is an honest show of grateful disbelief & appreciation for all you've ever invested in me. Last night meant more than I can ever express. Thank you Boston."

The West Newbury, Massachusetts, native captured the Intercontinental Championship for the first time in his legendary career when he defeated Dominik Mysterio. In doing so, he became a Grand Slam champion.

Cena joined select company. Shawn Michaels was the WWE's first Grand Slam champion in 1996, and Triple H, Chris Jericho, Kurt Angle, Eddie Guerrero, Roman Reigns and Seth Rollins are among the other luminaries in the group.

This is yet another achievement Cena added to his resume before he walks away from wrestling. The 48-year-old is in the midst of his farewell tour, having announced his intention to retire in 2025. His final show is scheduled for Saturday Night's Main Event on Dec. 13.
