Eagles' Jaelan Phillips 'Showed Out' in Debut After Dolphins Trade, Jalen Carter Says
Less than one week after getting dealt to the Philadelphia Eagles at the trade deadline, pass-rusher Jaelan Phillips made a sizable impact during their 10-7 win over the Green Bay Packers on Monday night.
At least one of Phillips' new teammates took notice as well, with defensive tackle Jalen Carter telling reporters, "This whole week, we've been telling him we trust him. When we get out there, we're all as one. He came out, showed out. He got the fumble, he got some pressures, and he had a hell of a game."

Projecting Every NFL Team's Starting Lineup 🔮

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
After arriving from the Miami Dolphins in exchange for a 2026 third-round pick, Phillips wasn't exactly eased into the lineup.
He played nearly 78 percent of the Eagles' defensive snaps and delivered to the tune of seven pressures, six tackles, two quarterback hits and a fumble recovery.
While Phillips recovered a fumble late in the first half when the Packers were on the edge of field goal range, his biggest play came with less than two minutes remaining in the game.
On a fourth-and-1 with 1:30 left, the Packers handed it off to star running back Josh Jacobs, but Phillips diagnosed the play and blew it up, leading to a fumble and a turnover.
The Packers did get one more offensive possession, but kicker Brandon McManus was way off the mark on a 64-yard field goal that would have tied the game, preserving a hard-fought, 10-7 road victory for Philly.
After the game, Phillips discussed how much being on the big stage and thriving meant to him, telling reporters, "This is the first time in a while that I got a little emotional before a game. This stage—it's my first time in Lambeau—and walking out of that tunnel, it doesn't get better than that. I felt amazing energy from the guys. There is just an air of confidence, and everybody played together. We had a great game, obviously, super gritty."
Phillips, 26, entered the NFL to plenty of fanfare as a first-round pick by the Dolphins in 2021, and it initially looked like he was going to be a star.
He recorded 8.5 sacks as a rookie and another seven in his second season, but a torn Achilles and a torn ACL limited him to a total of just 12 games over the next two seasons combined.
Phillips had three games through nine games with the Dolphins this season, and with their record sitting at 2-7 by the time the deadline rolled around, they decided to trade Phillips, given his status as an impending free agent.
Monday marked the biggest game Phillips has played in for quite some time, and joining a championship contender seemed to energize him.
The Eagles were in desperate need of some edge help, and Phillips not only gives them a rotational piece, but based on Monday's performance, he could prove to be a true difference maker.
