Jakobi Meyers Jokes He Didn't Want 'Another Mortgage' to Get Trevor Lawrence's No. 16
Wide receiver Jakobi Meyers revealed that it was an easy decision to switch from the jersey No. 16 after he was traded from the Las Vegas Raiders to the Jacksonville Jaguars on Tuesday.
Meyers joked about the price it would take to keep the No. 16, which currently belongs to Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence.
"I just understood the price tag that would've came with it, and I wasn't trying to take out another mortgage," Meyers said Wednesday, per ESPN's Michael DiRocco. "I'm good where I'm at."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
The 28-year-old will wear No. 3 with Jacksonville after previously wearing No. 16 throughout his seven-year NFL career with the Raiders and New England Patriots.
The Jaguars acquired Meyers from Las Vegas in exchange for a fourth-round pick and a sixth-round selection in 2026 ahead of Tuesday's deadline.
After wrapping up a 2024 season in which he hauled in a career-high 87 receptions for 1,027 yards, he caught 33 passes for 352 yards through seven appearances to open his 2025 campaign.
Meyers should immediately be able to establish himself as one of Lawrence's top targets, especially with rookie Travis Hunter currently on injured reserve due to a knee issue.
The Jaguars sit at 5-3 heading into Week 10, looking to clinch a playoff spot for the first time since 2022.
