Jerry Jones, Cowboys Trolled by Fans for Quinnen Williams Trade amid Losing Streak
The Dallas Cowboys have reportedly added New York Jets defensive tackle Quinnen Williams for a first-round draft pick, a second-rounder and defensive tackle Mazi Smith, NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reported on Tuesday.
The 3-5-1 Cowboys have lost three of their last four games and have looked especially bad the last two weeks in a 44-24 road loss to the Denver Broncos and a 27-17 home loss to the previously 2-5 Arizona Cardinals. Dallas has allowed 30.8 points per game, the second-worst mark in the NFL.

The Cowboys, of course, had one of the game's elite defensive players in Micah Parsons but traded him to the Green Bay Packers in August amid a contract dispute.
With that in mind, fans and analysts are wondering what team owner Jerry Jones is doing here, even if Williams, a three-time Pro Bowler, is a great player in his own right.
Continuation of tweets from RFN. Will delete line when I add.
Dallas previously traded a 2026 seventh-round pick to the Cincinnati Bengals for backup linebacker Logan Wilson.
The Cowboys have a daunting schedule up ahead, with games against teams with winning records each week from Weeks 12-16. If they truly want to shoot for the playoffs this season, they needed help on the defensive end, which has been allowing yards and points at an alarming rate.
Williams should certainly help, especially given his tremendous efforts as a run-stopper as well as his versatility.
John Owning offered a thorough rundown of Williams' play:
The question is whether it's the right move for the Cowboys to trade valued draft capital when the team is in its current state.
Williams should improve the defense, but he's only under contract for two-and-a-half more seasons, and as ESPN's Mina Kimes noted, Dallas has issues that need to be addressed behind the defensive line.
Perhaps Williams ends up being a transformative force that wakes up Dallas' defense as the team hopes for brighter days. Time is running out to truly make a playoff push, especially with the team currently facing just a five percent chance to make the postseason, per NFL.com.
For now, Dallas has a bye week to regroup before visiting the two-win Las Vegas Raiders on Monday, Nov. 17.
