Seahawks Troll Commanders' Daron Payne After Viral Jaxson Smith-Njigba Comment
Daron Payne probably knows who Jaxson Smith-Njigba is now.
In fact, the entire Washington Commanders defense probably knows who the Seattle Seahawks' go-to wide receiver is after the NFC West team's 38-14 blowout win on Sunday.
Seattle didn't just win. It took the opportunity to troll Payne after the defensive lineman said he was unaware of Smith-Njigba before the game:

In fairness to Payne, he is a defensive lineman. He's not going to be watching tape of opposing wide receivers because slowing them down is not his job. And he explained as much in the extended version of his pregame comments.
"I ain't paying him no attention," he told reporters. "I'm straight O-line, D-line, man. I've got enough on my plate. I know the DB's, they could tell you better."
The defensive backs didn't do an ideal job of containing the Ohio State product, who finished with eight catches for 129 yards on nine targets. He did not get into the end zone, but Sam Darnold still threw for four scores and 330 yards in the victory.
While Washington couldn't stop Smith-Njigba, nobody else has been able to this season either. He leads the NFL with 948 receiving yards and is a major reason the Seahawks are tied with the Los Angeles Rams atop the division with a 6-2 record.
With those numbers and Seattle's social-media team ready to troll, Payne will probably be the last defender to insinuate he doesn't know who he is before a game.
