Cowboys' Jerry Jones Breaks Silence on Micah Parsons Lying on Trainer's Table

Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones has shared his thoughts about star defensive end Micah Parsons lying on a trainer's table during a preseason game before he was traded to the Green Bay Packers.

While speaking about Cowboys legends Michael Irvin and DeMarcus Ware on 105.3 The Fan in Dallas, Jones referenced the instance with Parsons for the first time, saying, "Not one time, not even in the hottest of two-a-days in August in Texas … I never seen either one of these two go over a lay on a damn training table in front of a million people."

Parsons went viral after photos surfaced of him lying on the training table on the sidelines during the Cowboys' preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons. He responded to the commotion on social media, acknowledging that he was not on the table for the entire game and declaring that he would "never disrespect the guys out there fighting for their lives."

The moment occurred during an impasse between Parsons and the Cowboys regarding his contract extension. He had been entering the final year of his rookie deal, and rather than rewarding him with a historic deal, Dallas traded him to Green Bay. He was then signed to a four-year, $188 million contract, making him the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

Jones has maintained his belief that trading Parsons was the best option for the future of the Cowboys, but the early results say otherwise. Dallas ranks 31st in the NFL with an average of 404.6 yards allowed per game, while Green Bay is fifth with 286.4.

Still, despite his steadfastness in defending the Parsons trade, Jones hasn't hesitated to speak out against his former player in the media, so it remains to be seen if he will eventually move on over time.
