Micah Parsons Responds to Viral Photo Laying on Training Table During Cowboys Game

Adam WellsAug 23, 2025

Micah Parsons has issued a response about him laying on a training table during the Dallas Cowboys' preseason game against the Atlanta Falcons on Friday night.

After Mike Leslie of WFAA provided full context to the situation, Parsons thanked him and added he would "never disrespect the guys out there fighting for their lives."

The original image garnered a lot of attention on social media given Parsons' ongoing contract standoff with the Cowboys and owner Jerry Jones.

Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said after the win he didn't see Parsons on the training table because he "was calling the game."

"At the end of the day, we'll look at the film and we'll talk to everybody involved and we'll have a great assessment of how we did both on and off the field," Schottenheimer added.

Schottenheimer said on Saturday, per ESPN's Todd Archer, that he intends to meet with Parsons on Sunday to discuss the situation.

Parsons' brief moment on the training table during the Cowboys' game came after Jones made headlines once again for how he is handling negotiations with his star pass-rusher.

Jones went on the Stephen A. Smith Show and continued to blame David Mulugheta, Parsons' agent, for being an obstacle in contract talks. The Cowboys owner said he and Parsons had an agreement on years, total guaranteed money and the "package is the biggest ever paid a non-quarterback."

There remains no indication that a deal between Parsons and the Cowboys is close, though Jones remains adamant they won't trade the four-time Pro Bowler.

Schottenheimer has said he is confident Parsons will be on the field when Dallas opens the regular season against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sept. 4.

Parsons is entering his fifth season in the NFL. The Penn State alum ranks fifth among all players with 52.5 sacks since entering the league in 2021.
