The Bengals reportedly weren't planning to move Hendrickson prior to the deadline at first, but Fox Sports' Jay Glazer reported Sunday that the team was becoming open to discussing swaps.
Cincinnati appeared to have a high asking price for the four-time Pro Bowler, with Dianna Russini of The Athletic reporting that the team wanted a first-round draft pick in return.
Hendrickson is currently set to enter free agency in 2026.
He was allowed to seek a trade from the Bengals in March due to a lack of progress towards a long-term contract, eventually holding in during training camp. While Hendrickson didn't end up receiving a multi-year deal or a trade, he agreed to stay in Cincinnati on a reworked contract that resulted in a $14 million raise in 2025.
The 30-year-old has established himself as one of the NFL's top pass-rushers during his tenure in Cincinnati, racking up 61 sacks in 72 appearances with the team. He recently wrapped up a 2024 campaign in which he amassed a league-leading 17.5 sacks.
This season, Hendrickson has recorded eight quarterback hits and four sacks through seven appearances while managing a hip injury.
The Bengals will now look for him to provide a boost to a defense that has struggled mightily in 2025, playing a large role in the team's 3-6 record.
Cincinnati is giving up 33.3 points and 426.6 yards per game, with both averages representing the worst marks in the NFL.
