The full NASCAR Cup Series playoff standings bracket can be found at NASCAR.com.

Larson beat out his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate William Byron as well as Chase Briscoe and Denny Hamlin of Hendrick Motorsports for the win.

He was the only member of that group that went into Sunday with a previous Cup Series championship after winning in Phoenix in 2021.

It was Hamlin, whoever, who started in pole position for the playoff finale after a 133.759 mphย qualifying lap Saturday at Phoenix Raceway. Byron started in second, while Larson opened the race at No. 3.

Briscoe began in 12th as the only member of the championship contenders to post a qualifying lap under 133 mph.

Byron finished Stage 1 at the front of the pack after overtaking Hamlin for the lead.

Briscoe began suffering mechanical issues midway through the race, but had climbed into seventh place by the end of Stage 2.

Larson and Hamlin were left outside the top 10 after a slow pit stop ahead of the third stage.

The championship contenders went four-wide in time for the final 10 laps.

Byron hit the wall late in the race. Larson meanwhile moved up to third position in time for an overtime restart, which marked NASCAR's second Championship finale overtime since 2016.

Larson ultimately secured the championship with a third-place finish behind Ryan Blaney and Brad Keselowski.

He will now become the 18th driver to win multiple championships in his NASCAR career.
