Dodgers, Blue Jays Clear Benches in World Series Game 7 on Video After Gimenez HBP

Zach BacharNov 1, 2025

Tensions were high between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Toronto Blue Jays in Game 7 of the 2025 World Series on Saturday.

After Dodgers left-hander Justin Wrobleski hit Blue Jays infielder Andrés Giménez on the hand with a fastball in the bottom of the fourth inning, the two exchanged words before both benches cleared.

No players or coaches were ejected after the incident, but warnings were issued to each team.

The Blue Jays held a 3-1 edge with one out and the bases empty at the time Giménez was hit.

George Springer followed up his teammate's at-bat with an infield single, but a strikeout by Nathan Lukes and a lineout from Vladimir Guerrero Jr. ultimately ended the inning and kept Toronto from extending its lead.

A three-run home run by Bo Bichette gave the Blue Jays a 3-0 advantage in the third inning before Teoscar Hernández put the Dodgers on the board with a sacrifice fly in the fourth.

Wrobleski appeared in 24 regular-season games for Los Angeles, posting a 4.32 ERA while averaging 10.3 strikeouts per nine innings.

He stepped up throughout the Dodgers' 2025 postseason run, pitching 3.2 scoreless innings across three playoff appearances heading into Game 7.

Giménez continued to excel defensively throughout his first year with Toronto, as the three-time Gold Glove winner was named a finalist for the honor in 2025.

He recorded seven home runs and 11 doubles to go along with 35 RBI in the regular season, slashing .210/.285/.313.

The Dodgers entered Saturday's contest searching for their second consecutive World Series title, while the Blue Jays were looking to win the Fall Classic for the first time since 1993.
