Clayton Kershaw Says Goodbye to Dodger Stadium After Final Home Game in World Series

Scott PolacekOct 30, 2025

Regardless of what happens during the rest of the 2025 World Series, Clayton Kershaw will forever be a Los Angeles Dodgers legend.

And he took the time to say goodbye to the stadium he called home for so long after Wednesday's 6-1 loss to the Toronto Blue Jays in Game 5:

Toronto leads 3-2 and will have the opportunity to close things out at home since Game 5 was the final one at Dodger Stadium. That also means it was Kershaw's final home game of his career since he is hanging up the cleats after the 2025 campaign.

While Kershaw is not a part of the Dodgers' rotation at this stage of his career, he did get quite the send off in Game 3 of the Fall Classic. With Los Angeles short on pitchers, it turned to him with the bases loaded and two outs in the 12th inning.

He retired Nathan Lukes in a dramatic moment and set the stage for the home team to eventually win it in the 18th.

It was one more vintage moment for someone who has a World Series crown, a National League MVP, three NL Cy Young awards, five ERA titles, a Gold Glove and 11 All-Star appearances on his illustrious resume.

The southpaw is an all-time great who is surely headed to the Hall of Fame after his career is officially over.

He is also someone who played the entirety of his career on one team, which made his goodbye moment all the more notable.

Perhaps Kershaw will get an opportunity to pitch in Game 6 or 7 in Toronto, but he will forever be remembered for all he accomplished in Dodger Stadium. And he took a moment to remember that history himself Wednesday.
