Jerry Jones Hypes Cowboys' Pass Rushing Depth, 'The Best Numbers That We've Had'
Even though the stats suggest the Dallas Cowboys defense isn't very good, Jerry Jones is apparently pleased with the volume of talent they have up front.
During his regular Tuesday appearance on 105.3 The Fan's Shan & RJ show (h/t The Athletic's Jon Machota), Jones cited the Cowboys' pass-rushing depth as "the best numbers that we've had."

Rookie WRs Who Will Outplay Their Draft Value 📈
In a scenario where the Cowboys defense was playing at a high level, it's still hard to argue their depth on the front four is as good as it has been.
The 2022 group, for example, had Micah Parsons, Dorance Armstrong Jr., DeMarcus Lawrence, Dante Fowler, Osa Odighizuwa and Sam Williams. That group helped the Cowboys finish tied for third in the NFL with 54 sacks, tied for fifth in points allowed and 12th in yards allowed.
This year's Cowboys are tied for 22nd with 15 sacks, 31st in points allowed per game and 31st in yards allowed per game. They have allowed at least 22 points in each of their first eight games. Their last seven opponents have put up at least 341 yards against this defense.
So while Jones might be happy with the overall depth the Cowboys have right now, it's not translating to a lot of good play on the field that is helping them win games.
After Sunday's loss to the Denver Broncos, the Cowboys dropped to 10th in the NFC standings with a 3-4-1 record. They are only one game behind the San Francisco 49ers (5-3) in the loss column for the final playoff spot.
The Cowboys will look to get back to the .500 mark in Week 9 when they host the Arizona Cardinals on Monday Night Football.
