Updated NFL Trade Rumors, Predictions for Brian Thomas Jr., Rashid Shaheed, Riq Woolen

Kristopher KnoxOct 27, 2025

The 2025 NFL trade deadline is just over a week away. The window to make in-season deals will officially close at 4 p.m. ET on November 4. Unsurprisingly, things are getting pretty active in the ol' rumor mill.

Wide receivers have become a hot topic, which isn't surprising. There are never enough good pass-catchers to go around, and injuries to players like Tyreek Hill, Mike Evans and Malik Nabers have left multiple teams even thinner at the position.

Receivers aren't the only ones likely to draw interest over the next week, of course, and with the gap between contenders and pretenders largely defined, we have a good idea of who could be buying and who could be selling at the deadline.

Let's dive into the latest trade buzz and make a few predictions.

Brian Thomas Jr., WR, Jacksonville Jaguars

It would appear that fantasy football enthusiasts aren't the only ones frustrated with the sophomore slump of Brian Thomas Jr. The Jacksonville Jaguars wideout racked up 1,282 receiving yards and 10 touchdowns as a rookie last season but has just 365 yards and one score in 2025.

While the Jags aren't eager to move off of their 2024 first-round pick, they're not going to hang up on potential suitors either.

"The Jaguars are listening on calls for WR Brian Thomas Jr., even if a move feels highly unlikely," The Athletic's Dianna Russini wrote on Saturday. "They're also shopping for defense."

Teams don't usually get rid of good young receivers only a year after drafting them, but it's fair to wonder if Thomas is simply a poor fit for Liam Coen's offense. A substantial picks package and/or a top-tier defensive starter might be enough for Jacksonville to move off of Thomas and make Travis Hunter their go-to receiver.

Given Thomas' current slump, though, such an offer feels unlikely.

Prediction: Thomas stays in Jacksonville through the trade deadline.

Rashid Shaheed, WR, New Orleans Saints

Thomas isn't the only receiver who is going to draw trade interest over the next week. The struggling New Orleans Saints have a few pass-catchers who are likely to receive calls ahead of the trade deadline.

Just don't expect the Saints to move No. 1 receiver and 2022 first-round pick Chris Olave. Speedy wideout Rashid Shaheed, however, might be available for the right price.

"The Saints are attempting to re-sign Olave to a contract extension, and sources believe New Orleans would like to receive a third-round draft pick in a trade involving Shaheed," ESPN's Adam Schefter wrote on Saturday.

Given Shaheed's presumed price point, only teams that legitimately believe they can make a postseason run are likely to make an offer—and that list probably doesn't include the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, even if they could use added receiver depth. The Saints aren't about to do a division rival any favors.

The Pittsburgh Steelers, though, could use a field-stretching wideout. They've been "making calls" about receivers, according to Russini.

Prediction: Steelers make a trade for Shaheed at the deadline.

Riq Woolen, CB, Seattle Seahawks

Cornerback is another premium position that is likely to command a lot of attention at the trade deadline. According to Russini, the Baltimore Ravens, Indianapolis Colts, Detroit Lions and Los Angeles Rams are all making calls with a cornerback in mind.

Though the 5-2 Seattle Seahawks certainly don't fit the mold of a typical deadline seller, they could have a starting-caliber corner up for grabs. According to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler, the Seahawks are actively shopping Riq Woolen.

"They've been wanting to move him for a while," one executive said, per Fowler. "He doesn't fit what [head coach Mike Macdonald] wants to do."

Detroit might be the team most desperate to add a corner, given the rash of injuries in its secondary—the defense relied almost exclusively on backups on the back end in Week 7. The Lions, who ere on bye in Week 8, are also more sensible trade partners for the Seahawks than the Rams or Ravens.

Seattle probably won't want to deal with a division rival. If Woolen isn't a fit for Macdonald's defense, he probably won't be an ideal fit for Zach Orr, who inherited Baltimore's defense from Macdonald and uses many similar concepts.

Prediction: The Lions trade for Woolen at the trade deadline.

Logan Wilson, LB, Cincinnati Bengals

The Cincinnati Bengals blew a 14-point fourth-quarter lead against the New York Jets on Sunday, and in doing so, blew a prime opportunity to get back to .500.

While a 3-5 record probably won't be enough to spark a fire sale in Cincinnati, the Bengals appear open to moving linebacker Logan Wilson. At least, other teams believe that Wilson could be available, according to Fowler.

Dealing Wilson would make sense for Cincinnati since the team captain has officially requested a trade. While Wilson is signed through 2027, he looms as a potential 2026 cap casualty. The 29-year-old has seen a reduction in playing time this season, and the Bengals could save $3.6 million by releasing him in the spring.

While there is no shortage of defenses that could use help at the second level, the Colts would be an ideal landing spot for Wilson. Indianapolis is looking like a title contender and just so happens to employ former Bengals defensive coordinator Lou Anarumo.

The Colts already brought in former Bengals linebacker Germaine Pratt shortly after he was released by the Las Vegas Raiders.

Prediction: The Colts trade for Logan Wilson at the deadline.
