Watch Blue Jays' Addison Barger Hit Historic Grand Slam vs. Dodgers in World Series G1
Toronto Blue Jays outfielder Addison Barger has potentially put Game 1 of the 2025 World Series out of reach for the defending champions.
Barger hit a grand slam in the sixth inning of Game 1 to give the Blue Jays a commanding lead over the Los Angeles Dodgers.
The hit made Barger the first pinch hitter to record a grand slam in the history of the World Series, according to MLB researcher Sarah Langs.

Barger's home run came from a 413-foot hit off reliever Anthony Banda, who had just stepped onto the mound after multiple Dodgers pitchers ran into trouble in the bottom of the sixth.
Starter Blake Snell stepped away after loading the bases on a walk, single and hit-by-pitch. Emmet Sheehan wasn't able to get the Dodgers out of the jam, allowing three walks on two RBI singles and an RBI walk.
Banda was unable to come things down after taking over for Sheehan. He only threw four pitches before Barger, who had entered the game as a pinch hitter for Davis Schneider, hit his grand slam.
Alejandro Kirk finished out the inning with a two-RBI homer to put the Blue Jays ahead 11-2 in one of the highest-scoring innings in Fall Classic history.
The Blue Jays will now look to take a one-game series lead into Saturday night's Game 2 in Toronto.
