Biggest Sleepers at Every Position for Week 8 Fantasy Football 2025
Fantasy football managers are searching the waiver wire to find replacements for Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua, who are on a bye week. Fortunately, our sleeper options can help fill those receiver voids.
If you need a wideout, focus on the league's worst pass defense. A sleeper list isn't complete without at least one pass-catcher set to line up against the Dallas Cowboys.
Yet this could be the week when we see the young Tennessee Titans put together a solid offensive showing. Consider a Titans' quarterback-receiver stack.
This week's sleeper list features four rookies, two of them seventh-rounders, so get familiar with new names.
All of our selections are available in at least 50 percent of leagues, according to FantasyPros' roster percentages. We also listed DraftKings' daily fantasy sports price for each player.
QB Cam Ward at Indianapolis Colts (12 Percent Rostered)
1 of 8.jpg)
It took eight weeks for Cam Ward to make the weekly sleeper list, but he's finally in a favorable spot after showing the ability to move the ball against the New England Patriots defense.
Last week, he threw for 255 yards, a touchdown and an interception. Though he lost a fumble that resulted in a score for New England, the rookie signal-caller completed a career-high 73.5 percent of his passes without top wide receiver Calvin Ridley.
On Sunday, Ward will face the Indianapolis Colts' 29th-ranked pass defense, which will be without starting cornerback Charvarius Ward, who's on injured reserve, and may be without two-year starting cover man Jaylon Jones as well.
This is Ward's best chance at a true breakout performance. Even if the Titans fall behind on the scoreboard, he could boost his fantasy output with late yards and touchdowns on a negative game script that will require him to push the ball downfield.
RB Tyrone Tracy Jr. at Philadelphia Eagles (42 Percent Rostered)

When the New York Giants played the Philadelphia Eagles in Week 6, Tyrone Tracy Jr. made his return from injury and didn't play a significant role. He only had four touches.
Last week, he logged nine carries for 46 yards and a touchdown. Further removed from his two-week injury absence, he should continue to see a rise in his touch volume, especially with the limited options in the Giants' aerial attack.
Since his return, Tracy hasn't been targeted in the passing game, but that should change in Sunday's contest with the Philadelphia Eagles, who allow the eighth-most fantasy points to running backs. Remember, as a rookie last year, he caught 38 passes for 284 yards and a touchdown.
Even if Tracy doesn't see a single target, he could be busy along with Cam Skattebo on the ground. Philadelphia ranks 22nd against the run, allowing 4.6 yards per carry, which ranks 24th leaguewide.
RB Kyle Monangai at Baltimore Ravens (14 Percent Rostered)

As the Detroit Lions' offensive coordinator, Chicago Bears head coach Ben Johnson had Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery. He's gradually molding D'Andre Swift and rookie seventh-rounder Kyle Monangai into a one-two combination in Chicago's backfield.
After a Week 1 loss to the Minnesota Vikings, Johnson told reporters he needed to "call more runs" to get Monangai more involved in games.
The Bears' lead skipper put those words into action last week. Swift and Monangai combined for 32 rush attempts, with the latter logging a career-high 13 carries for 81 yards and a touchdown.
With a comfortable lead over the New Orleans Saints, the Bears were able to feed Monangai, though don't be surprised if he logs double-digit rush attempts against the Baltimore Ravens' 26th-ranked run defense.
Baltimore allows the second-most fantasy points to running backs. Swift and Monangai have strong fantasy appeal in a plus matchup.
WR Elic Ayomanor at Indianapolis Colts (35 Percent Rostered)

In Week 6, Calvin Ridley suffered a hamstring injury that sidelined him last Sunday and kept him out of practice at the beginning of this week. If he's out again, Elic Ayomanor will have plenty of opportunities to shine against the Indianapolis Colts' 29th-ranked pass defense.
The Colts' lead cornerback, Charvarius Ward, is on injured reserve after he suffered a couple of concussions. He missed the previous two games, and in those contests, Indianapolis allowed 312-plus passing yards.
Though the Colts designated cornerback Jaylon Jones to return from injured reserve, he's not a lock to suit up Sunday.
Rookie Titans quarterback Cam Ward could have his best pro passing performance against Indianapolis' vulnerable secondary, and Ayomanor could be the main beneficiary as his primary target.
Ayomanor leads the Titans in targets (39), seeing at least five in all but one game. Look for him to rack up yards with a chance to get into the end zone. The Colts give up the second-most fantasy points to wide receivers.
WR Troy Franklin vs. Dallas Cowboys (27 Percent Rostered)
5 of 8.jpg)
Every week, you should target the Dallas Cowboys' 32nd-ranked pass defense. The club also allows the most fantasy points to wide receivers.
Despite the Denver Broncos' recent offensive struggles in the passing game, Troy Franklin is an intriguing option. He's second on the team in targets (46) behind Courtland Sutton.
Last week, Franklin tied Sutton for a team-leading 10 targets in an inefficient outing. With all those looks in the aerial attack, he only recorded three receptions for 19 yards.
However, Franklin should be able to turn targets into big gains and touchdowns this week against, arguably, the league's worst pass defense. He only averages 10 yards per catch because of Bo Nix's dinking and dunking, but the second-year wideout could easily break a few big plays in this favorable matchup.
WR Tez Johnson at New Orleans Saints (21 Percent Rostered)
6 of 8.jpg)
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers placed Mike Evans on injured reserve, and Chris Godwin is still recovering from a fibula injury. Rookie seventh-rounder Tez Johnson must take on a bigger role within the team's depleted wide receiver corps.
Thus far, Johnson has shown he can be a big-play threat in the passing attack. Over the last two weeks, he's hauled in five of 12 targets for 103 yards and two touchdowns, scoring in back-to-back outings.
Though quarterback Baker Mayfield must work on his efficiency with the 23-year-old, the two have a rapport that could yield solid fantasy results in a matchup against the New Orleans Saints.
The Saints field a middling pass defense in total yards allowed, but they've surrendered 14 touchdowns through the air, tied for the fifth-most in the league.
Mayfield's primary receivers will be Emeka Egbuka and Johnson. Both of whom average 17 yards per catch.
Egbuka is going to help managers win leagues, but Johnson can get you through the week without Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jaxon Smith-Njigba and Puka Nacua.
TE Dalton Schultz vs. San Francisco 49ers (20 Percent Rostered)
7 of 8.jpg)
The Houston Texans offense struggled after it racked up 70 points in two games against the Tennessee Titans and Baltimore Ravens before the club's Week 6 bye.
Even more concerning for the Texans' aerial attack, Pro Bowl wideout Nico Collins exited the previous game with a concussion. He missed practice at the beginning of the week, which doesn't bode well for his availability on Sunday.
Managers should focus on tight end Dalton Schultz, who leads the Texans in receptions with 30. C.J. Stroud has targeted him six times in four consecutive games, and the eighth-year veteran tight end recorded single-game season highs in catches (nine) and receiving yards (98) last week.
Schultz is banged up with back and shoulder injuries, but he went through a limited practice to start the week.
If the 2018 fourth-round pick suits up, the Texans could try to exploit the middle of the San Francisco 49ers' pass defense, which is without All-Pro linebacker Fred Warner, who's an exceptional coverage defender.
TE Noah Fant vs. New York Jets (3 Percent Rostered)
8 of 8.jpg)
Quarterback Joe Flacco injected an instant spark into the Cincinnati Bengals' aerial attack. Last Thursday, he threw for 342 yards and three touchdowns in an offensive thriller with the Pittsburgh Steelers.
While you shouldn't expect Flacco to replicate that in back-to-back weeks at age 40, he could find holes in the New York Jets' pass defense. Gang Green are tied for eighth in fantasy points allowed to tight ends.
In his short time with the Cleveland Browns this season, the veteran QB targeted tight ends David Njoku and Harold Fannin Jr. at a high volume. Against the Steelers, he connected with Noah Fant on four completions for 44 yards and a touchdown.
Without tight end Mike Gesicki, who's on injured reserve, Fant could be a reliable third target behind Ja'Marr Chase and Tee Higgins in Cincinnati's passing game. The Jets will allow opportunities for him to make plays in the seams and in the red zone.
