MLB Fans Hype Shohei Ohtani for Best Playoff Performance Ever as Dodgers Sweep Brewers

Taylyn Hadley Oct 17, 2025

The Los Angeles Dodgers have punched their ticket to the World Series as they chase back-to-back titles, powered by six shutout innings and three home runs from superstar Shohei Ohtani.

Los Angeles completed a commanding sweep of the Milwaukee Brewers in the National League Championship Series with an 5-1 win at home Friday.

Ohtani set the tone early, shaking off a leadoff walk to strike out three straight batters in the first inning, then launching a home run at the top of the Dodgers' order to ignite the offense.

He finished a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate with three solo home runs, while striking out 10 over six innings and allowing just two hits and three walks.

Teoscar Hernández drove in one run on a 1-for-4 performance, Tommy Edman added a RBI, and Will Smith went 2-for-4 at the plate.

Ohtani and the Dodgers' dominant performance had fans in awe as they set their sights on a World Series repeat.

Ohtani's leadoff homer at the top of the Dodgers' order sparked a three-run first inning. Edman followed with a RBI single, and Hernández grounded out to first but brought in Smith for the team's third run.

The two-way star stayed red-hot, crushing a 469-foot homer that left the stadium in the fourth and adding another in the seventh — his third of the night — to push the Dodgers' lead to 5-0.

Milwaukee scored their first run of the game in the eighth inning on a Brice Turang RBI, but the score would hold at 5-1, with Roki Sasaki closing out the game for the Dodgers.

The Los Angeles Dodgers will await the winner of the American League Championship Series between the Seattle Mariners and Toronto Blue Jays, with Seattle currently holding a 3-2 lead. The World Series is set to begin on Oct. 24.
